New Wing Tzun Class in Newtownards

Si-hing_Darren_Wilson.jpgOn Monday 3rd of October Si-hing Darren Wilson will open a new EBMAS Wing Tzun class in Newtownards.

Si-hing Darren Wilson is one of the UK & Ireland senior instructors for EBMAS and currently runs the Bangor Martial Arts Academy with long term friend and training partner Sifu Mark Carson. Si-hing Darren has been training in various forms of Wing Tzun for over ten years included in his training has been boxing, Ju-Jutsu, Kick boxing, grappling and Latosa Escrima.

In 2003 Si-hing Darren travelled with fellow students to England from Northern Ireland to attend one of Dai-Sifu Emin Boztepe's seminars. After the seminar Si-hing Darren joined EBMAS and since that time Si-hing Darren has travelled to Germany to continue his Wing Tzun education with Masters Sifu Frank Kohlhase and Sifu Oliver Becker. Si-hing Darren has also trainined in Latosa Escrima and has recieved tutalidge from Grand Master Rene Latosa, Dai-Sifu Emin Boztepe, Sifu Oliver Becker and Tomas Vologey (Private Student of GM Rene).

While attending EBMAS's Summer camp in 2007 Si-hing Darren recieved his First Technician Grade from his Sifu, Sifu Emin and in November 2010 Sifu Emin awarded Si-hing Darren the Second Technician Grade.

Classes are being held at the Northdown CFC, 3 Glenford Way, Newtownards, BT234BX

What are the training times?

There are two training times:

  • 18:00-19:00 10-16yrs
  • 19:00-20:00 16yrs +

How much are classes?

After that classes are:

  • £4 per class for 10-15yrs
  • £5 per class for 16yrs +

Am I too old or too unfit to start learning a Martial Art?

You are never too old or unfit to start anything in life so learning Martial Arts is no different. Each of our members are different from one another so whether they are young or old, Male or Female,tall or small; all our instructors realise that we each have different goals as to what we want to acheive form learning the art of Wing Tzun. Our classes are tailored to all ages and all levels of fitness.

What type of clothing should I wear to class?

While training we do not wear traditional Martail Arts clothing or train in our bare feet.The best clothing to wear is a pair of light trainers and a comfortable pair of loose fitting tracksuit trousers and a light comfoftable t-shirt.
